Book Review: "The Total Money Makeover"

Want to know what Free to Pursue thinks about Dave Ramsey's book "The Total Money Makeover"?

I gave the book a 4 out of 5 Rockstar rating.

Ramsey's TTMM offers a no-nonsense approach to household money management, but some of the author's tenets seem overly prescriptive. That said, I would say that anyone who has debt and is looking for the motivation and the system to help them pay it off is not likely to be disappointed.

Here's a quick overview of what you'll find in the book:

  1. Baby Steps: A set of 7 Baby Steps to get you from being in debt to being debt free and on your way to building wealth.
  2. Templates: You'll find a number of worksheets to help you through the baby steps, from listing your debts and setting up an action plan to pay them off to preparing your first budget and more.
  3. Success Stories: Success stories can be so motivating when we're trying to make a change in the right direction and you'll find many in this book to keep you focused and inspired along the way.

I would recommend this book for anyone who carries any amount of consumer debt.
